Kirm Ramblings: Hindsight's 20/20
Apr. 10th, 2025 09:36 pm More thoughts about tumblr, more scares and hiccups. People are already mobilizing and I've already made peace with the idea that my rping days will have to be dedicated to discord and google docs, potentially some things here as well. Mostly in-character blogging, I think. I think what I'll do is export my tumblr blog(s) and chronical a proper archive of all of the important interactions for my ocs / muses in general if push comes to shove, but I think tumblr at bare minimum still has another year in it.
I genuinely think tumblr cannot be profitable but there can be counter-measures to lower server costs. Again, it's not ideal, but if the website slowly turns into something different with weirder rules, I imagine people could still adjust. I was thinking perhaps tumblr would force-terminate blogs inactive for longer than a year to free up a lot of space, but that would result in major backlash. Myspace is still up, but a genuine husk of what it used to be. It's... Depressing.
Tumblr and Twitter were both my favorite socials, and of course, they were each ruined by their respective millionaire white guy. Makes me a wee bit spiteful.
